Harmattan dust, heavy rain and coastal wind all attack a roof differently. Here is how we specify one that lasts.

A roof in the South-East does not fail because the sheets were cheap. It fails because the specification ignored the two seasons it has to survive: months of hard rain, then months of dry, dust-laden wind.

We start every roof with the structure, not the sheet. Truss spacing, timber grade or steel section, and purlin centres are calculated against the sheet profile chosen, never the other way round. When a client asks for a specific profile, we confirm it can carry the span before we price it.

For long-span aluminium we insist on a minimum gauge and proper end laps. For stone-coated steps we check the batten layout, because that is where most leaks in Owerri actually begin.

Finally, every roof we install is handed over with an inspection report: fixings checked, valleys flashed, rainwater goods sized for peak intensity. That report is what lets a client maintain the roof instead of replacing it in five years.
